Look what they’ve done to my… park!

WWW today was just a half WWW… Told you already about it some time ago. Today I was not only surprised but I was thunderstruck. We came at the huge dogpark. Well mum, look at this: here is some kind of gate? Mum, look there! More fences! Even for us doggies now? No, a festival? Who is that? A human?

Lots of humans, Kita!

What? Music? Is that a mister human, mum! Or a lady human?

No, something you hear, Kita!

Now I understand you: barking and whining and barking again! Why do you laugh? 😦 It often sounds better than barking? You are kidding! πŸ˜‰ And why can’t I go and see all those houses they were building? There is another new fence! We even can’t go to the water-business part! Really mum, I think this is insane! They are going to have a barking party and doggies are not allowed!

A music party for humans, Kita!

Fences for humans who go to a barking party, I understand you very well, mum! πŸ˜‰ Okay, I’ll inspect the grounds… πŸ˜‰

PS In the end I had a great time, I’ll show you tomorrow, I need a nap now…

City-lady Kita goes in… urban sciences.

When we return home from the huge dogpark, we take a shorter way. I want to show you something special! In Antwerp most of the humans love animals: lots of fenced dogparks and the huge one where me and mum go now. But doggies live in the house with the humans!

Humans live in apartment buildings in our city, big buildings with lots of houses! Well, here in Antwerp pigeons have their own apartment buildings! They have their own house in a big building! Yes, they do! And on the ground they have their own restaurant: white bowls with grains in it and theirΒ own bar: white bowls with water! πŸ™‚

Me? I like to sniff around over there but I do not frighten the pigeons. They stay where they are when I’m passing by! πŸ˜‰ Nice neighbours!

PS The only low building you see in the pics is… the public library of our district! πŸ™‚Β

Me and my mum?… We love our city!

My (library-)mum has to leave early some days… These are the days we go to the little dogpark nearby to run a bit and then we go back by another way, a longer way! We go to the river Scheldt. I like that! Lots to see and smell!

That’s the moment sun is wakened up by someone and slowly gets out of her bed… That’s the moment bunnies disappear between the grass. That’s the moment too that birds start singing in the trees… Mum says that spring is very near: you see, feel and hear it coming, she says… Although it is still freezing at night.

That’s the moment of the beautiful light and colours, mum says… I see the light, I believe her about the colours! That’s the moment we take pics too…

Every morning it is different and every morning it is beautiful! Yes, me and mum, we love our city!

Free friday… full friday!

Yesterday, it was free friday! We did a lot of things, me and my mum! In the morning, we went to the huge dogpark! There was a bit of a strange situation! Remember we saw a full moon on mum’s birthday? Moon did not leave Antwerp, as the king did, but still stayed a while! Full moon was in the dogpark in the morning! Quite amazing! I was running and said hello to the full moon and at the other side of the huge dogpark, I was saying hello to the rising sun! This lady never saw these two Β together! Mum did, she said. But she is older! Will ask grandpa when he is awake! πŸ™‚

On the way home, we met Pepper. Six months old Pepper. I often play with him in my little dogpark. Then Filou is there too. That’s for next time!

In the afternoon, we walked to the Scheldt. there everything was back to normal… or not completely! Grass was funny but growing again. It was low tide. And there was a part where we now just can walk into the river… before there was reed. Mum said it is a little dangerous now. Mum made lot of pics for the foreign friends! One especially for Dusty! πŸ˜‰

At the yacht club, we saw birds, making their little walk too. πŸ˜‰ And then we were on the dike in the turn of the Scheldt. We saw the industry, far away, of the big harbour. We also saw the little bech where you can’t go for a swim! Me is happy about that! πŸ™‚

When we came home, I saw this amazing and odd situation: a ship on wheels, a ship that was not in the water! My dogness!

Anyway: enjoy the pics and the walk in Antwerp, on the left bank of our Scheldt! πŸ™‚ ❀

Antwerp-Christmas-tour… for my far away friends!

On thursday night, mum’s holidays started. And the holidays of her collegues too! The met in the evening in Antwerp to have a drink on the “Grote markt”, near the city hall. And guess what? I could come too!

We made a large trip on foot, get off the tram few stops earlier, to admire the lights everywhere! Light, lights, lights… Mum says that’s because of Christmas. Christmas?
Is that a doggie, mum? Don’t tell me it’s a cat!! No dog? No cat? What is it? Oh, a big feast! Are there treats for doggies too at this feast?

Okay, so we walk in the city that’s ready for Lightmas!

Christmas, Kita, Christmas!

Okay, Okay! Lightmas! I show you around in Lightmas-Antwerp… Have a look at the pics with comment… Mum had the blinking box ready, this time… πŸ™‚

City-girl goes to… the city! :-)

Yes, today is Friday! The day mum is not going to her library, the day we stay for a long time in the dogpark in the morning πŸ™‚ , and the day I have to be combed and brushed! 😦 So far everything is as usual! I’m good in routines! πŸ˜‰ – when I’m not in a stubborn day!
Euh? Harness? Leash? It’s almost noon, mum, at this time we don’t go out, you’re wrong!Β

Come on, Kita, let’s go!

Okay, okay… What is this all about? Mum? What do you say? We’re going to the city for a lunch with your friend? She comes with the train? And we take the tram? Just hate waiting for the tram! But there it is! Yes, yes! Having a good look! We get in… have to explore everything, of course. Everything is safe, mum, I lay down for the fototoot! πŸ˜‰

Jesus, Kita, photoshoot!

Now we are in the biggest shoppingstreet of Antwerp: the Meir. I like it there! Why? There are lots of people and many of them are looking at me and commenting on me, the airedale lady! People talk to mum and ask what kind of breed I am. Silly people! The good ones are those who come to us, smiling and say: an airedale, an airedale!
Lots of other things to see too! Luckily mum had the blinking thing! Because… we met Pablo! Pablo is a Welsh terrier of 9 months old. Never seen this guy before, but he is quit a guy! We wanted to play… stupid leashes… People surrounding us, looking very surprised: a big one and a little one of the same colours and looks! πŸ˜‰
We know better, don’t we mum?

On our way home we did go in at the green-clothes-people’s place! Ohlalala! But is was only to buy special food for grandpa Lennox’s kidneys. πŸ™‚ And me? I had to sit on the scale. Mum was pleased… scale did not show I was not eating for more then 4 days, last week! πŸ˜‰

Yes, I like Fridays! You too, mum? What? Mum agrees with me??? πŸ˜‰ Mum says I become a good and well behaving city-girl!
City-girl? 😦 City-lady, you mean!! πŸ˜‰ Now I’m ready for a very long nap! πŸ™‚

Antwerp sightseeing … for the foreign friends (part 4)!

This Sunday was very busy! This morning I was in the dogpark for two hours! Playing with Jett. Mum made a film of it: we’ll show it to you tomorrow! Today it’s sightseeing day.

My mum’s best friend and her husband came to Antwerp, we went to Linkeroever (part of town on the left bank of river Scheldt). First they had lunch… but then,Β I went for a nice walk with two mums and two dads! (Are you jealous now? πŸ˜‰ )
Β I’m taking you to the harbor for the yachts, with a pretty nice view on the skyline of Antwerp! The mums made the pictures with the blinking little box! πŸ˜‰

Antwerp sightseeing… guided tour for my foreign friends! (part 3)

Today my mum has to buy something for her human sister. Therefore we go to the old city of Antwerp.

Mum, will you take the blinking thing with you? Then we do a ‘fototoot’ in the city!

A photoshoot, Kita, a photoshoot! That’s a good idea! Be a good dale, then, will you?

Yes mum, I’m an airedale-lady, you should know that! My mum says the weather is to misty and cloudy for good pictures. But we are here, so she makes them anyway! We had a lot of fun, I tell you everything with the photos.

One very special thing to mention for very special fans: There were a lot of people of your country on the Handschoenmarkt, they were looking to the story of the dog. When mum and me passed by, everyone asked if they could make a picture of us, of me of course!!!,Β with the story, told in their language. So, there will be a lot of Kita-pictures in your country, soon! But none of them persons got me a duck :-(, as you did! πŸ™‚ By the way: I still play with it!

So we did a tour in the city! Lots of people remarked me being an airedale and came to say hello! I was very pleased and was an excellent girl: I didn’t pull on the leash, not once. I even didn’t jump up… oh, yes just once, but the madam made me do it… πŸ˜‰
My mum, she was surprised?!!! Wonder why, she should know I’m a lady! πŸ˜‰

I even waited gently for the last one of the French fries at noon! I lay down and waited politely!Β I was proud of myself,Β I have to say that!

And now, I’m taking a very long nap… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Little bit of Antwerp-sightseeing… for my foreign friends! (part 1)

It’s sunday today! I like sundays… In the morning we go to the dogpark and at noon, we often go to “Linkeroever”. That means that we go to the other part of Antwerp, the part at the other side of the river Schelde (Scheldt).

We go to the restaurant! Yes, in that restaurant dogs are allowed! I lay down under the table and wait patiently… because I always get a treat! πŸ˜‰ But afterwards, that’s the nicest part! We go for a walk! And then you can see my town at the other side of the river! So nice, I’m a proud airedale-lady: I’m proud of my city! So is my mum! πŸ™‚

My mum took the little blinking thing with her and we made some pictures, espacially for all my friends in all parts of the world! πŸ˜‰ Have a look and enjoy Antwerp although the weather isn’t that nice… At least, it wasn’t raining! πŸ™‚
