Me?… The most ‘mindful’ aire-lady ever!

Mum, I told you, you did sleep too long this Saturday morning! On weekdays we are too early in the dogpark to see the friends and on Saturday we are too late! Okay, you’ll have to play with me! Will you? Yihaaaa!! Fine, she takes my toy to play with. I like that!

It rained a lot and the dogpark is very muddy! Very, very wet and very, very, very muddy! Never mind, my mum never complains: she has a pawplunger… although, with all my curls nowadays, it takes time to get me all clean! But we like the cleaning-ritual, don’t we, mum? πŸ˜‰

Okay, mum trows the toy, I fetch and I bring it to her. I nicely sit, give it in her hand… and I get a tiny treat! Mum says my bringing skills are improving… But after eleven or twelf times, I like to do something else… πŸ™‚ I want to climb in the tree with my toy.

Kita, no tree today. Too wet, too dangerous!

What? We’ll see that. Oh, that face of hers is quit severe! Mum, listen, I won’t run in the tree, I will gently and slowly walk on it. Waf! If I’m a very careful and mindful lady, I can go up? Wafwaf! You always say it isn’t that high anymore since the branches “cracked” and rest on the ground. Wafwafwoofwaf! Please, mum, I’ll be a good girl! Waf πŸ™‚
Yes, I see it on her face, she hesitates, I go up! Very slowly and carefully and cautiously and mindfully and…! Okay, she smiles and she takes the blinking box, it’s okay! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚

I’m a good negotiator! πŸ™‚ And this time I do what I promised… I admit and I agree (again!): it was a bit dangerous…

Holly?… Mum, what’s that?

We go outside… We do not have a yard or a garden, we have a terrace… I’m a city-lady! Remember?

Since the colour-time began, we don’t sit anymore on the terrace: too cold, my mum says! It’s at the north-side of the house. Mum likes it very much on the very hot summerdays: no sun, cool air… I agree! Agree? Again? Oh, my dogness, mum and me, we become really very close, we often agree these days!
Anyway, it is getting a bit dirty because of the rain and the cold and mum is getting some plants inside!

At once, she is very, very pleased! I have to come and have a look! I don’t get it. She shows a little tree, with pricking leafs: holly she calls it. Don’t like it. Know it pricks since I was a pup! Has always been there, that holly-thing!
What does she say? Red berries at the tree? Never had that before, in all that time, in ten years?! Berries? Okay, interesting enough now to have a look! πŸ™‚

No, mum, really, don’t repeat it that often! I will NOT eat these berries! Not that I don’t want to try πŸ˜‰ … but the berries are very well protected by the pricking leafs… 😦 Will have a look under the tree instead! πŸ˜‰

It was fun… but I do regret… :-(

When I think it’s time to go out and play and mum is doing something else that she thinks is more important… well, I amuse myself, as a good girl.
I have a big box with lots of toys in it. I take them one by one and and drag them to somewhere in the house. I like that. Some of these toys are there my whole life, so some are old and others are new.

One of the very old ones, is my little elephant. I got it when I was a baby! I remember it well πŸ™‚ My little elephant talks to me. When I gently bite on it, it says: piep, piep, piep!
So, while mum was busy in the kitchen, I started playing with it. I run around, I talked (mum yelled I couldn’t bark inside though!) and little elephant did talk too! But then I started biting and biting and felt something special! Biting, biting, biting…

Kita, what are you doing? You’re so silent? What’s that????

I don’t look, I don’t hear… I bite, of course! YES! pieppeieppiep. YES!

Kita, los!

What is mum doing here? I have to ‘leave’ my elephant? Okay! A command is a command!
She seems upset! Oh, I see why. My elephant can’t talk anymore… There’s a hole in it! Poor little elephant… 😦 Mus says she’ll try to sew it, but it will be a silent elephant… So I cannot swallow something she calls a squeek or something…

New toy :-)… Seaside: last part… :-(

Mum got me a new toy! She says she wants me running and playing a lot, so that I need a very long nap when we come home… πŸ˜‰ That’s what she wishes, of course! πŸ˜‰

But I was playing and running, and playing, and runnng… I love this new thing! Mum trows it and then I can run and play with it! We played at the beach, a week ago! I liked it very much! Maybe we’ll play with it in the dogpark too? When there are no other friends to play with? πŸ™‚

By the way: she was right, my mum, I had a very, very long nap! :-)

Birds???… Oh, birds everywhere!

Told you already about the wind at the seaside, last weekend! Next day, there was less wind but…

In the morning, mum and me were going to the beach. It is still the period of the year I can run free, so when we were in the area for ‘dogs of the leash’, I barked and mum understood! She putted me off the leash! Yihaa!

I ran immediatly to the water but then I had to stop and have a good look first! – Mum did laugh about it! – Oh, what’s that? Β Birds! Very many birds! My dogness! I look at mum: can I go there? I run a bit and look at her again… She is not yelling NO, so I run again! When I approach, the birds fly away, but not far. I run again, they fly again… Look at mum, no reaction! Okay, I can play with these birds! This is a fun game!! πŸ˜‰ Of course there was the blinking thing, filming and fototooting! πŸ™‚

In the afternoon, we went back to the sea. I told grandpa Lennox about the birds and he wanted to come too! Big disappointment! No birds anymore! :- (I was glad mum made the pics or grandpa would not have believed me! πŸ˜‰

Hey, silent wednesday-gang in the UK: you like the beach too, this film is especially for you and your mum! πŸ˜‰

My coat?… Very good quality! :-)

Yesterday, it was the 11th of november, mum calls it” Armistice”, but I think that my foreign friends talk about Rememberance day. Not sure tough!
Anyway, in Belgium that’s a holiday! So mum does not go to the library and dad does not work either.

And I tell you something! We went to the seaside for two days! Yihaaaaa! It’s only 150 km. πŸ˜‰ Even grandpa Lennox was coming, kidney-thing or not: he is going strong again, oh yes!

The first day was a bit special! Me and mum we went to the beach! Of course! πŸ˜‰ My dogness, there was a lot of wind! I think they call it storm! The sea was blustering! At first I was a bit afraid, I admit. But afterwards… ohlalala… I was enjoying this funny weather. Mum said I was acting even more crazy as the wind, she made a fototoot and a little film (without music, wind sings enough, she says). I asked her!
Why? She had a lot of trouble with her scarf and cap, even with the blinking thing! Nothing was staying in his place… hahaha! I had no problems! πŸ˜‰ My coat is of much better quality then her scarf and cap! My coat doesn’t fly off and I don’t have to run after it! πŸ˜‰ So I wanted to show my good quality coat!! See the pictures and the film!

Oh yes, and then we met a Welshie, again! Second one in one week! His mum said: “On dirait pΓ¨re et fils!” And my mum said: “On dirait plutΓ΄t mΓ¨re et fils”. That made his mum and dad laugh!!! Yes, I’m a lady, not a sir!!! Anyway, they also said I am a beautiful airedale, so I forgive them their little mistake, wouldn’t you? πŸ˜‰

City-girl goes to… the city! :-)

Yes, today is Friday! The day mum is not going to her library, the day we stay for a long time in the dogpark in the morning πŸ™‚ , and the day I have to be combed and brushed! 😦 So far everything is as usual! I’m good in routines! πŸ˜‰ – when I’m not in a stubborn day!
Euh? Harness? Leash? It’s almost noon, mum, at this time we don’t go out, you’re wrong!Β

Come on, Kita, let’s go!

Okay, okay… What is this all about? Mum? What do you say? We’re going to the city for a lunch with your friend? She comes with the train? And we take the tram? Just hate waiting for the tram! But there it is! Yes, yes! Having a good look! We get in… have to explore everything, of course. Everything is safe, mum, I lay down for the fototoot! πŸ˜‰

Jesus, Kita, photoshoot!

Now we are in the biggest shoppingstreet of Antwerp: the Meir. I like it there! Why? There are lots of people and many of them are looking at me and commenting on me, the airedale lady! People talk to mum and ask what kind of breed I am. Silly people! The good ones are those who come to us, smiling and say: an airedale, an airedale!
Lots of other things to see too! Luckily mum had the blinking thing! Because… we met Pablo! Pablo is a Welsh terrier of 9 months old. Never seen this guy before, but he is quit a guy! We wanted to play… stupid leashes… People surrounding us, looking very surprised: a big one and a little one of the same colours and looks! πŸ˜‰
We know better, don’t we mum?

On our way home we did go in at the green-clothes-people’s place! Ohlalala! But is was only to buy special food for grandpa Lennox’s kidneys. πŸ™‚ And me? I had to sit on the scale. Mum was pleased… scale did not show I was not eating for more then 4 days, last week! πŸ˜‰

Yes, I like Fridays! You too, mum? What? Mum agrees with me??? πŸ˜‰ Mum says I become a good and well behaving city-girl!
City-girl? 😦 City-lady, you mean!! πŸ˜‰ Now I’m ready for a very long nap! πŸ™‚

Run free, Sir Darwin… see you, … one day!

Something is wrong, something is very wrong… When mum is at the tv-typing-machine and she says: oooh nooooo! And then again: oh no, oh no, oh no… Well, at that moment I know something is really very wrong! She said so when she read that my big friend Grobber went away for never returning to our dogpark. And she acted the same way when Gracie’s big sister Sadie went to the Rainbow Bridge! Waf, woof, waaaaffff.

What does she say? She’s talking about a kidney-thing? But Lennox is fine for the moment. What’s going on?
What do I hear? Sir Darwin? Sir Darwin???!!! What does she say? Sir Darwin is now at the Rainbow Bridge too? Waaaaaaf, waaaf, ggggrrrrr! Oh noooooo! Sir Darwin with the beautiful ears! He is now with Grobber and Sadie?

How very, very sad for his mum and dad! But mum, will you tell his mum and dad that it is fine at the Bridge? Grandpa Lennox did explain it to me some time ago! And they can remember his beautiful ears and all the other nice things!

Mum, and tell them too that his friends can’t stop eating because they are sad, as I did last week when grandpa was very ill. That’s not good! Tell them this too: in honor of and as a tribute to airedale-sir Darwin, I ate all my dinner! For the first time in a week.

Run free, sir Darwin with the beautiful ears… see you… one day! And please, say hello to Grobber and Sadie for me?

Big?… And high!!!

When is she coming home, my mum, I have big news to tell her! Something big is in our street!

Mum, mum, let’s go for a walk! Take the blinking box with you, you will see you’ll need it! Really! Come on! Finally, we leave the house! Look, mum, do you see it? You can see it from our house!

Mum seems not too excited! 😦 She says she’s old enough to have seen lots of them! She says it’s a crane they use to built new houses or to renew old houses. A crane? Okay, so a crane-thing… rather high though!

Mum, I think it’s pretty high this crane-thing. And mum, don’t you see it’s moving all the time with this wind? I’m a little afraid. What if it fells down? Then we are in big crane-trouble, aren’t we? 😦

Mum says this big-high-moving-crane-thing will stay several weeks, she can read it on the sign. Well, we do the fototoot anyway, under the moving-crane-thing. I act like a real lady for this fototoot, mum is pleased with me! πŸ˜‰

Big trouble!… Mum says trouble is big!

Mum and dad were away for a few days with their French friends. Yes, my friends understand immediatly! Big fun because we went to holidaymum’s place! We had a great time: Dixie, Eva, Grandpa Lennox and me! We really did! We played and played and didn’t stop playing!

But then trouble started! No, this time we didn’t do any mischiefs… Euh, well, maybe just a little one: Eva and me were having a very close look IN the dustbin! πŸ™‚

So, no mischiefs, but other big trouble! Grandpa Lennox got ill! At 14,5 years old, getting ill is dangerous said holidaymum, so we had to be quiet. Lennox was vomiting all the time. So his personal vet came to holidaymum’s house and he got different medication syringues and his blood was taken. Nothing helped, he went on vomiting and vomiting all night. Next day his personal vet came again and he got a real infusion. After that, it seemed to get better.

The problem? His kidneys failed! A kidney-crisis. I don’t know that good what kidneys are but it seems very important these kidney-thing! My grandpa Lennox could have died, if I understood it well! But then you are mistaken!! Grandpa Lennox never dies! He gets more medication, other food and guess what? He’s alive and kicking again! Dad and mum are saying all the time: for how long? I say: for ever!

And now? I’m the one in trouble, mum says. I don’t want to eat! Only when she does the training exercises with me and she gives me a treat, I eat it! Mum is clever, after 6 or 7 exercises and treats I saw she was giving me pieces of my food in stead of treats! So I stopped exercising! Mum gets a little worried, I think!
We went for a walk! Yes! We exercised and I got a few treats, real ones, which I ate! πŸ™‚ Of course. Mum says I’m tired and a little depressed, because of the illness of Lennox. I don’t know, I just don’t eat! πŸ˜‰ We’ll see tomorrow! If she starts talking about the people in the green clothes, maybe I’ll eat!

For now, grandpa and me, we take a nap! πŸ˜‰
