What a week!… But I did it!

Well, dear friends, I had a very busy week! I can tell you that! But this lady grandma did it all!

First we went to the seaside! The first day was marvellous! I had a good run on the beach. But the second day did not start that well. I got no breakfast! 😦 Go figure!

We left without breakfast and walked to the green clothes man. I like him. 🙂
What happened there? I fell asleep for some time, says mum. And the green clothes man, who was wearing a white coat this time, cleaned my teeth. He also pulled one out!!! The one which was aching all the time… 😉 Nice man! ❤

Some time later mum came back and we walked home. Very, very, very slowly. I slept all day. Got no dinner! 😦 Go figure! Slept next day too, quite a lot.

Now we are back home!

This saturday, we went to the huge dogpark and I showed my best self! Grandma? Mum says I still think I am only 5. She put me on the leash in the end, so that I would behave my age in stead of forcing myself. Well mum, my teeth are not hurting any more, what do you want?!!!

Pictures and video proove that I was one busy grandma Lady!

Yes, we helped for… warm sweater day!

A few days ago, there was this anual special day! They call it warm sweater day. That means you turn the heating system in the house very low or off. Why, mum?

It is to sensitize people to be very careful with energy! Use less energy! And why is that, mum?
Well, for our environment, Kita!

Our what? Our onvermint? Environment, silly! Remember, you are wise, now! The world we live in, nature!

I get it, to prevent that we get more heatweaves in summer and less plastic in river Scheldt and…
Yes, you got it!
So, are you ready for the toot with your old sweater… i made when you were a very young yougster! You were not yet 1 year old!

There we go! Well it still fits, mum! I kept my girlie figure! Wil you toot with the française too? Yeeey, that will be fun, hahahahahaha! 😉 🙂

PS Who is who in the pictures? 😉

For once and always:… know your place, youngster!

When we started our evening walk, in the snow (third time this winter 😉 ), and we turned around the corner… I told mum to go to the dogpark. I saw it all right: Rex was there!

In the snow, I will not hurt me mum, playing with him. I did not tell her i was going to make it clear for once and always that he should know his place! You cannot treat a grandma as you handle other youngsters! 😉 And surely not an airedale lady grandma! ❤

But that was what i did! He barked a lot, he was a bit afraid. He did not know that a grandma in good shape is not that easy to deal with and surely you should not fleering!!! Surely not…

Mums were looking and my mum was filming a little bit but when it came to the point where it became clear who will be the boss, she was not filming. Ggggrr, the mums were just telling each other what was happening.

When we were leaving i showed him that you have to go to your mum when she calls you and he did too. And going back home, he was very calmly walking with his mum, only still puling a bit on the leash… well, nobody learns everything in one day!

PS Pity that the française was not there to learn how to handle him! 😉

Yes, yes… finally… me too!

Dear grandpa Lennox

Yes, i should write you more, I know… ❤
But mum says you know everything, there at the rainbowbridge… 😉

But this time, I have big news! You will never believe this! Yesterday it was my birthday! Now, I am 10 years old! ❤ My age is with 2 numbers now! You always told me that age has to have two numbers to be a grandpa and to be wise. I now, i am not a grandpa but a grandma! You see, I am wise now.

So from now on, I am lady grandma Kita. I will tell everybody! Yes, it showed already! Most youngsters have respect for me nowadays (except the française and Rex – française still bites in my hind legs, gggrrr). And yes, I am very wise now, i understand everything and I always think twice or even three times before agreeing and doing things!

And at the other side, as you said too, my bones get old. But with the treats the green clothes man (a new and very kind one you never met) I am doing all right and started chasing cats again. Imagine, mum seemed pleased with that – she changes too! As you all predicted. No, no doping steroids yet… i am only 10 and not 15 like you, you know! 😉

I had a nice day yesterday. While sissie Lizzie was out, I got a very special treat: calf cartilage. Yummy and safe, mum says. Yes, she still knows better… that is what she thinks! 😉 And yes, I made a mess of my bed BUT I cleaned it up! You see, a grandma cleans up the mess!

Dear grandpa, off to lunch now! 🙂 You will understand that! Yesyes, we still get some veggies when mum is busy in the kitchen! I have to hurry not to miss it!

Till next time! Big, big hugs from

Lady Grandma Kita van ’t Asbroek

PS I add the pics and video! Have fun!

New business… healing business!

It is almost unbelievable, but… yesterday evening it snowed again. Not that much and it was dark and too late to go out for me and sissie Lizzie. But kids did! And they made a snowman, at 50 meters from our window. Rex’s mum texted Rex was afraid of the snowman!

Mum, listen, we go out after lunch to fototoot me and the man of snow? To show Rex how ladies behave? 😉 What, you want to toot too, you? The française? My dogness, mum, no… we go with the 2 of us, really!

After lunch, me and mum went out. To the snowman. Oooh, my dogness, he fainted!!! Mum, the poor man needs help! Help me, will you? So me and mum were healing the snowman. He was happy and did not move during the toot. Good, stoïc man!

And there she came… the française! She convinced dad to go to the fototoot session too! Ppppfff, she almost behaved like a lady… at least at first! Hahahaha, poor Lizzie was very carefull because a bit afraid. She first looked from behind dad’s legs. Hahahaha. But then she was all right and even jumped! 🙂

See the fototoot!!

When the doorbell rings… we are the alarm!

Normally, when the doorbell rings… Olala, sacrebleu! Kita and me, we make a terrier-fying fuss, to warn Mum and Dad that a serious threat might be imminent. This morning, though, the doorbell rang at a very, very early time, beaucoup trop tôt. We weren’t even awake yet! Dad was nowhere in sight to get our morning routine going.

“Mum and Dad are still sleeping,” Kita whispered in my ear, “so we better be nice and quiet. Let’s pretend we’re not even here, and the threat will go away, I guess.” And so we did, and so it did. Whatever it was, on ne saura jamais. Kita didn’t move a muscle, she just stood there, comme une statue gelée, and I ran around a bit, comme un poulet sans tête.

We had barely resumed our sleeping positions, when Dad entered notre dortoir, apparently in one of these moods. Every move or sound he made, clearly showed that he wasn’t ready to get this Blue Monday started. And when he’s nervous, I’m not at ease either. Si je ne comprends rien, ça me rend nerveuse. But then we started cuddling and everything was great again.

Sissie Lizzie,
alias La Française

Only a few hours, but… we got snow!

It does not happen every year, really not! But yesterday, there was falling snow in Antwerp! We saw it from the window!

Mum, really, I want to go out? You know that? But we wait untill there is enough snow… Really,, sometimes she is silly, this mum of mine! 😉

In the end, we had to wait for almost 2 hours, an aeternity that is, it was my turn first! Of course, I am the oldest! The lady (drama) queen of the household! ❤ I played with Spanish gentleman Solar!

When I was home again, big surprise: mum took out the française while dad was fixing the shower… no more warm water…
Lizzie played with 2 Spanish gentlemen… You could say it was the Spanish-snow-day for me and the française!
🙂

We both needed rest after this snowbusiness! ❤

Yes, yes… well trained!

Today was a beautiful sunny winterday! It started good! At noon, we were going to the dogpark nearby! The française was very, very happy. Her big lover was there: Rex.
Well, because he is not my lover and only 8 or 9 months old, he is not my favorite! Surely not after today!

What happened? The 2 youngsters were playing very wild and running like fools. They don’t look to who else is in the park. Three weeks ago, they got dad down on the ground… Not too much harm done, but really… this lady got never a human down on the ground! 🙂

Well, playing too wild they both run into me at , at least, 40 km/hour! No, i do not exaggerate!!!! Well, I stayed on my four feet but from the big smack against me, THEY fell down at my feet. Dad was nearby and came to see… as always I stayed my stoïc self and walked to mum. She cleaned my face and leg: their dirty feet went up in my face… Mum said: we go home, keep moving a bit, do not lay down.
No pics, too fast, all what happened… 😦

Normally when I hear the word: home, in a dogpark, i don’t like it… this time however… 🙂

The française as well as I slept all afternoon. Because we are self-cleaning, you see exactly where we slept all afternoon!
But mum is really well trained, as you can see in the pictures! 😉

2020? The year with … the biggest misser ever!

Well, it is some time ago, that it happened… but mum was repeating me so often that I should tell this too on my storypage… i did not want to… but in the end i gave in… she said i should be honest and not only be bluffing and boasting about being a lady and a queen… 😉
Well… nobody is perfect in this life… and i am sure my friends will understand me! ❤

As you know my mum is in the crocheting business! She makes a lot of things! Well, she is making a cover for our big red couch. The one we, for all means, are not allowed on! And if I say: not, then I mean: NOT.
So we do not do it, even the française never does!

When part one of the cover was finished, she installed it to see what it looks like! And i fully agree: it is nice and colourful. In cotton, so soft too… ❤

Because I am in the inspection business… well, what did I do? I tried it out… i went on the NOT-couch!!! 😉

Oooohoooh, my dogness! Who came in with her black blinking thing in her hand? Mum!
I never heard her yell that hard, well maybe once, when i was very young when i ate the froozen chicken i got from the kitchen counter. Never did that again, i can tell you!
The whole building and people in the street have heard her yelling at me! Because i was on the new cover of the NOT-couch! 😦

End of story: I got off… 😉 I was going to try it one second time but when i saw only mum’s eyes… well… well… well… i didn’t…

Happy 2021 to you all, masked or not! 😉

Me?… The lady queen of terriers!

I knew it!! I knew it!! 🙂

I know my mum… She took the whistle, she took a lot of these special treats! I knew it, we would go to the huge dogpark! ❤ So we did!

When we arrived there were a lot of clouds! We do not mind, don’t we mum? Mum, we go all the way to the water today? If i do not go in the cold water. Too cold? We’ll see, i was thinking, I am faster than mum, hahahaha! (See the arrow on the pic, that is where the water is!)
Hahaha, i went in and when mum arrived she was yelling of course. Mum, really, you know I only wet my feet, I do not want the water touching my belly! Ladies only wet their feet! ❤

On the way back, i showed who is the king of terriers! Or better: who is the queen of terriers! For once mum was ahead and she saw it too and made pics!
A dad with 5 big dogs was coming. Of course the dogs were faster! 😉 Humans never learn! hahaha.
The dad seemed a bit worried because he came with very big steps. This time mum was not worried, she was proud…
I was there, waiting stoic, like a lady queen! Dogs showed me respect, I can assure you! The dad, he was afraid! Id did not understand why… I had everything under control! Why did he put the beautiful husky on the leash, such a respectful guy…
Really, humans can be stupid! I had more control than he did. Husky was angry at him, go figure! I understand him very well, mind that! 😉

At home, after 3 km, my almost 10 years old bones needed rest… yes, grandpa Lennox, I understand now…
