Newsflash… about a special day!

Mum says that March the 8th is a very special day! It’s an international day! This day is especially for women (only)!

So, being a lady myself, this aire-lady wishes all the mums around the world a very happy International Women’s Day. Now already for the friends at the other side of the world and later on for the friends here and at the other side of the ocean. That’s a bit difficult to understand for me but in this matter: if mum says so, it must be so! I agree! 😉

Enjoy the day, ladies! 🙂

International Women's day

International Women’s Day

This is Antwerp too… and meet little Tom!

When mum has a few holidays, we do all kinds of things. We went to the seaside few days ago (have still stories to tell about that!) and today we took the tram! YES!! And where did we go? We stayed in Antwerp, Yes, we did! 🙂 We went to the left bank of river Scheldt: Linkeroever. There’s a part of Antwerp too! A part with big buildings (see pics 12 and 15) but also…

There is that huge playground, where dogs are tolerated off the leash. It is not a dogpark with a fence, but it is huge and we, doggies, may off the leash. I had a nice time, really! Especially for the Silent Wednesday-gang, I have some news! I met a Welsh gentleman, called Tom! Ohlala, he is quite a guy! We played a lot! But he thinks he is bigger than he is… he had a stick, and not a little one… just see the pics (11)! Well, guys, I asked him about St. David’s day. He never heard of it, so I did explain to him! Now he is a real Welshie, I think!!!

And then, I played hide and seek with mum! At a certain moment I lost her! I really worried… what if she fell in the water? Or what if she does not know anymore the way back. So I looked for her… there she was, behind the bushes… pfff, should watch her more closely before she does stupid things!

I went in the water – not far of course, and mum tried to fototoot me… but, she took dad’s blinking box and … well, you should really look for me on some pics (23 and 24)… 😦 They are not all as the were meant to be… 😦 … that’s what I think about this fototoot. 😉

Not one!… Two! Two ladies Van ’t Asbroek!

Some days, my mum is really stupid, really: more stupid is not possible! Most stupid of all mums! Hear this!!!

Mum and dad had a very good idea: to see if I was alright after my bizar illness, they took grandpa and me at the beach! No, that’s not a stupid idea, that’s smart! I admit that.
So, we are on the beach in the morning! Something incredible happens! We meet a dad with anothere airedale lady! Imagine! This airedale lady is Jara! She comes from ’t Asbroek too! Appears we are family! Her dad is Desmond! And Desmond is my grandpa, my real grandpa! So, that makes Jara my aunt. She is four years old. So these two ladies Van ’t Asbroek were playing at the beach!

Mum, mum, take the blinking thing and make pics for the friends! WHAT? You don’t have the blinking thing? And the black speaking box? NOTHING?
For the first time in my life, I meet an other airedale lady on the beach and my very stupid mum forgets the blinking thing! Is this stupid or is this not stupid?

In the afternoon we go again for a walk on the beach. Mum, don’t forget the blinking thing! Okay? Check! There we go! I saw her, mum didn’t. I started pulling on the leash! Mum, please, don’t be angry! Look! Look! There is Jara!

So we have pics! We only have pics: my stupid mum forgot to upload the battery… so battery was too low to film…

However: enjoy the pics! We played for quite a while! And afterwards… I was very tired….

Me?… Always giving assistance!

This airedale lady is a very good assistant, yes, I really am! You can ask my mum, she’ll confirm. Yesterday, for instance…

Mum likes to crochet, when she has the time, of course. She is making a bedcover now. That’s not the first one, she already made seven others! But finally she started one for their own bed. Kind of smart, I think…

She already made some parts and she wanted to see the result. First some sewing and ironing. Grandpa and me were very good helpers as the pics show you! 🙂 It took some time… the time of a nice nap! 😉

Then we went upstairs to see the effect on the bed. I know I’m not allowed in the bedroom, and as a lady should, I waited by the door. And then I forgot for a moment that I’m a lady, I was just curious… as pic shows…
Yes, mum, it will be nice and it matches with the curtains! 😉

Teacher Kita in a fototoot… Theme? Crack willows

Mum says that I can use the tv-typing-machine… She has a few hollidays, it’s carnival these days… She does not like that. I mean she does not like carnival but she likes the holidays coming with them. Wouldn’t you??

So I decided to try to answer the questions about my tree! My tree is a crack willow (Salix fragilis). The name explains it already. Grandpa Lennox explained it to me, in his younger days he learned Latin, I learn English! He says fragilis means: breaks easily. I see, he means: cracks easily, I suppose. That’s why my tree is not an ordinary willow, but a crack willow. Branches crack: they make nice noices while cracking. And then, they grow further. That’s why the tree is so big and has two parts!!

The crack willow in our dogpark is a very nice example. He was honoured by the townhall-people and he became a real monument in Antwerp. It is even indicated! And the city-nature-workers take care of my tree. I showed you once!

I asked my mum to make a lot of pics and she even found a film (a very long one, but it’s weekend…) of me in the crack willow… which makes her afraid every time she sees it. I don’t know why… euh, or maybe I do… it was before my tree did “crack” and was still very high…
Enjoy the pics and film (after the pics). I asked mum to add the explanations I found on the tv-typing-machine: my dogness, there’s a lot to find on that thing!
